Open science - publishing & managing research data: Managing research data

Managing research data

LUT Research Data Policy and the corresponding implementation plan will soon be completed. Several funders require a research data managing plan as part of the applications. LUT commits to Open Science in the Action Plan for Research.

LUT recommends Open Science infrastructures to be used in depositing research publications, research data and research methods. Open Access publishing costs (Article Processing Costs, APC) can be included in the research project budgets. University is recommends that all research and conference articles as well as other publications should also be published in the LUTPub Repository.

Instructions on how to manage and preserve research data are soon to be published. LUT recommends that researchers use CSC (IT Centre for Science) research data services. Research data sets can be preserved also in the LUTPub repository.

Open Science is included in the syllabus of LUT Doctoral School. Academic library guides researchers in open access publishing and arranges training in cooperation with other researcher service units.
