Accessibility means that websites and mobile applications and their contents are such that anyone can use them and understand what is being said.
LUT Academic Library’s LibGuides are subject to law on provision of digital services which is based on Europe-an Accessibility Act. The law states that everyone must have an equal opportunity to use digital services.
This accessibility statement applies to the LUT Academic Library’s libguides.lut.fi -website and its subsites that have been produced using SpringShare’s LibGuides content management & curation platform. The LibGuides digital service was published before 2018 which means that the site must comply with the AA level of the WCAG 2.1 criteria by September 23, 2020. The statement has been updated 15.1.2025 (the supervisory authority details).
Accessibility status of the digital service
The digital service is compliant with the A &AA accessibility criteria with the following few exceptions:
• use of color & contrast (minimum)
• missing text alternatives (tables, image links, images, videos)
• functionality of menus when using keyboard navigation and a screen reader
• accessibility of pdf-documents
The website will be developed to meet the missing criteria within a reasonable time.
