Accessibility Library Celia

Accessibility Library Celia is a national library for accessible publishing and literature. The produce and distribute literature in accessible formats, such as talking books. Celia also produces and distributes textbooks in accessible formats to all educational levels, including higher education. Celia offers services to people with print-disability or a need for accessible media.

LUT Academic Library has an agreement with Celia, so you can register as a Celia customer in our libraries. If you have already registered as a Celia customer through another library, please let us know so we can update your Celia customer information to reflect that you are a university student. 

You do not have to present a proof of print disability to sign up for Celia. 

Celia's services are free of charge.  

Celia customers

As a Celia customer you will receive: 

  • username and password to Celianet 
  • username and password to the Pratsam Reader -app which allows you to listen to talking books on a tablet or a mobile phone
  • the opportunity to ask your university library to make an acquisition proposal for an audiobook that is missing from the Celia's collections - this is available for current degree students and open university students  

Talking books in Pratsam Reader - app

Celia offers its customer a free Pratsam Reader -app where you can listen to talking books on tablets and smartphones. The app can be used tosearch for and borrow books. The app is available for iOS and Android devices. Further instructions for listening to talking books in Pratsam Reader are available on Celianet's website
